Panorama was selected to provide services to address wildfire concerns in the San Lorenzo River Watershed for the SLVWD. The team is accounting and mapping the SLVWD resources and assets in order to understand exposure to potential wildfire during critical fire weather. Panorama is working with the SLVWD to build implementation grant proposals while also canvasing other funding opportunities to expand the scope of the project to include more in-depth analysis and implementation across all landowners in northern Santa Cruz County. The watershed encompasses lands owned by the City of Santa Cruz, California State Parks, Santa Cruz County Parks, and private land.
Panorama coordinated and talked with numerous agencies and entities, ranging from the San Mateo and Santa Cruz RCD, the Santa Cruz Mountains Stewardship Network, Santa Cruz Fire Safe Council, CAL FIRE staff, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, Santa Cruz County, and the Watershed Emergency Response Team to ensure that SLVWD was at the table and involved in all potential opportunities for collaborative efforts and grant funding.
