Position Description
The Senior Planner is responsible for managing all aspects of the preparation of environmental documents and proposal efforts. Senior Planners work directly with clients, chart the project’s process, and are responsible for quality work products, client relationships, agency relationships, budget, and schedule. The Senior Planner must also have a strong understanding of all CEQA and NEPA technical topics and provide direction to subconsultants and technical experts. This position will support Senior Managers and Principals in preparation of proposals, fully manage smaller proposal efforts, and will relay important information to the client based on study results. This individual will also be responsible for conducting marketing and/or RFP/RFQ research to support firm direction. They must be able to critically review all team members’ work and creatively solve problems or issues that arise. They must have mastery of the regulatory process. The Senior Planner will grow in their role through strong support from Senior Project Managers and Senior Managers.
Senior Planners oversee and delegate work, provide mentoring to Environmental Analysts and Environmental Planners, and manage all team members on small and medium-sized projects. They perform similar roles when managing proposals and projects and are starting to develop marketing and other client contacts.
Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Studies, Biology, Hydrology, Geology, Natural Resources, or other related discipline and generally a minimum of 7 years of experience or a M.S. degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience
- Deep understanding of CEQA, NEPA, and environmental regulatory processes and technical topics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience delivering presentations and facilitating client and stakeholder meetings
- Can mentor and train Environmental Analysts and Environmental Planners
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong work ethic and dedication
- Technology savvy.
Compensation and Location
Salary range: $105,000 to $120,000 annual salary (depending on skills and experience)
Location: Work can be remote and within easy traveling distance from the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, San Diego, Reno, or Boise.

Description
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the preparation of environmental documents and various proposal efforts and will serve as the Project Manager on mid-sized to larger projects and/or task order manager for a contract involving issuance of environmental clearances to support infrastructure operations and maintenance work for Bay Area clients. Sr. PMs work directly with clients, chart the projects process, and are responsible for quality work products, client relationships, agency relationships, budget, and schedule. The Sr. PM must also have a deep understanding of all CEQA and NEPA technical topics and provide direction to subconsultants and technical experts. The Sr. PM shall relay important information to the client based on study results, and coordinate with agencies. They must be able to critically review all team members’ work and creatively solve problems or issues that arise. They must have mastery of the regulatory process.
Sr. PMs oversee and delegate work in addition to providing technical analysis, provide mentoring to Project Managers, Environmental Planners, and Analysts and manage all team members on projects they manage. They perform similar roles when managing proposals and projects.
Sr. PMs also develop client relationships and are responsible for leading proposal efforts and building relationships that lead to follow-on work and client referrals and business development.
Qualifications
- S. Degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Studies, Biology, Hydrology, Geology, Natural Resources, or other related discipline
- Minimum of 8 years of CEQA experience with understanding and experience with categorical and statutory exemptions
- Experience managing interdisciplinary teams of experts
- Detail oriented and able to multi-task
- Ability to manage budgets and schedules
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to mentor and train Environmental Analysts and Environmental Planners
- Marketing and business development experience
- Existing agency and client relationships

Salary range: $115,000 to $140,000 annual salary (depending on skills and experience)

Description
The Senior Manager (SM) for water resources is responsible for managing staff, client relationships, and complex projects for water and wastewater infrastructure clients. The SM has extensive water sector client relationships, at least 15 years of experience, deep technical knowledge, and ability to manage contracts. This position will be part of the firm’s leadership team, providing business direction to grow the water resources practice both internally and externally.
Qualifications
- S. Degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Studies, Biology, Hydrology, Geology, Natural Resources, or other related discipline and a minimum of 15 years of experience.

Salary range: $135,000 to $160,000 annual salary (depending on skills and experience)
Location: Work can be remote in California, preferably in the San Francisco Bay Area, or in our San Francisco or Alameda offices.
