Patua Geothermal Phase I and Phase II

Panorama prepared the EA for Phase I and the subsequent EA for Phase II of a geothermal development project near Fernley, Nevada. Panorama also prepared permit applications for the co-location of solar facilities on the geothermal power plant sites. The project involved development on federal and private geothermal leases. The leases were secured from BLM and from private landowners in Churchill and Lyon Counties. Panorama attended the public hearings in Fernley for permit approval.

The project included construction of a new 120-kV transmission line through the Fernley Wildlife Management Area, which is a sanctuary for waterfowl. Panorama worked with the developer and the Nevada Department of Wildlife to determine the best alignment that would minimize effects to the management area. Panorama also attended several meetings with and coordinated with BLM and BOR, the lead and cooperating agencies on the project. Other significant issues included impacts to a pair of golden eagles using the area as well as water issues and effects to hot springs.
