The Government of Saint Lucia is planning exploration and development of geothermal resources in the Soufriere region of the country. The geothermal exploration is being funded by the World Bank. Panorama assisted the Government of Saint Lucia with completing baseline environmental studies and preparing an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, Environmental and Social Management Plan, Resettlement Action Plan, and leading stakeholder engagement activities for the exploration phase of the project. Panorama evaluated three potential development areas to provide flexibility to the Government in the location of exploration activities. Panorama also led multiple consultation meetings with Government ministries to address concerns about effects on tourism and the nearby UNESCO World Heritage site designation. The exploration activities were designed to avoid effects on the World Heritage site.
